The Extended Fourways Book 4 class decided to host the Martyrdom of the Bab commemoration as their service project. Every aspect of the commemoration was thought of. The Johannesburg Baha'i Centre was beautifully decorated before the event, to create an atmosphere of spirituality and tranquility. The program consisted of readings summarizing the life of the Bab and His ministry, followed by dramatic recitations by the children and junior youth from the point of view of the people who were close to the Bab or knew Him. The Tablet of Visitation was then recited, and simple refreshments were served. The atmosphere, as well as the readings, created a heightened feeling of the significance of the day, and refreshed our memories about the potency of the ministry of the Bab.
