Courtesy of Catherine Walters-Shaw, NJ, USA- At our intensive Book 7 course held in Hamilton, NJ, in the summer of 2004, we wanted to come up with something that would bring the arts into the whole session - not just only talked about in Unit 3. We came up with the idea of grouping the participants and tasking each group with coming up with an artistic rendition of the "Path of Service" that we are all walking. We gave these instructions in Unit 2 of Book 7 - after the section going over Ruhi Book 1 (this was also the first time we covered all of those sections in Unit 2 - our group of new tutors had completed most of the Ruhi books). After each group creates their "path", have them share it and explain it to the Study Circle.
Supplies: Thick markers, poster paper or flipchart paper, tape (to attach to the wall)
- Once the groups got into it they really had fun. The results were amazing and the drawings were awesome as you can see from the photos below.
