"Musical melodies…have the keenest effect upon the spirit. In sooth, although music is a material affair, yet its tremendous effect is spiritual, and its greatest attachment is to the realm of the spirit. If a person desires to deliver a discourse, it will prove more effectual after musical melodies."
Take a portable audiocassette or CD player to your study circle and to set the tone for devotions, play a piece of devotional music or sing.
A Touch of Beauty
Take the time and make a effort, even a small one, to decorate the room with flowers, decorative scarves and tablecloths, photos of the terraces and gardens at the World Centre, candles…etc.
Sweet Social
Plan on time to socialize. Schedule a coffee and tea break and add something sweet.
Encourage the Arts
We know of some study circles where, when an abstract concept is studied and discussed such as life after death, the participants are given large sheets of paper and markers and are asked to imagine and portray the concept. Some participants are poets and many like drama. Encouraged them to apply their talents to what they are learning. More on this in Unit 3 of Book 7.
